The Alligator
BubbaIn a state full of unpredictable reptiles, Bubba is… well, the opposite. Docile, slow-moving, and perfectly content to nap in the sun, Bubba is more of a neighborhood fixture than a threat. No one’s entirely sure where he came from; some say he wandered in during a storm and just never left, others insist he was part of a failed roadside attraction. But now he’s simply there, like a mailbox or a lawn ornament you can’t legally move.
Bubba doesn’t chase, hiss, or even seem particularly interested in people. He’ll happily lounge by the canal for hours, blinking occasionally, letting squirrels run past his nose, and tolerating Florida Man’s attempts to put sunglasses on him. Iguana Man swears Bubba is “the chillest gator this side of the Glades,” and even Winnie seems to approve of him.
Every so often, Bubba will wander into the background of Raymond and Oscar’s adventures, completely unfazed by whatever chaos is unfolding around him ... whether it’s a police arrest, a runaway swamp buggy, or Florida Man trying to wrestle a plastic flamingo. He’s the perfect embodiment of the Florida survival strategy: stay calm, stay still, and let the weirdness pass you by.
